Revelation 2: 7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
- In Revelation chapters 2 and 3, the phrase “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’ The Word of God is very clear…we must hear and act on the Word.
A.W. Tozer “Of God and Men” – “We must insist on New Testament sainthood for our converts, nothing less, and we must lead them into a state of heart purity, firey love, separation from the world, and poured-out devotion to the person of Christ. Only in this way can the low level of spirituality be raised again to where it should be in the light of the Scriptures and of eternal values.”
- Parable of the Sower
Matthew 13:19-23 – -When anyone hears the word of the kingdom, and does not understand it, then the wicked one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is he who received seed by the wayside. But he who received the seed on stony places, this is he who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy; -yet he has no root in himself, but endures only for awhile. For when tribulation, or persecution arises because of the word, immediately he stumbles. Now he who received seed among the thorns is he who hears the word and the cares of this world and the deceitfulness of riches choke the word, and he becomes unfruitful. But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.
James 1:22 – Be doers of the word and not hearers only.
James 4:17 – Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin.
John 13:17 – If you know these things, blessed are you it you do them.
Luke 6:46 – But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say?
